A word on the question "What does it mean?"

A tattoo may connect directly with your sense of meaning and personal symbols- or you may just find it beautiful or interesting. If that's the case, and someone asks you 'OK but why would you get that? What does it mean?' You can remind them that humans are the only creatures who can enjoy simply looking at something they find visually pleasing - that's a really meaningful and deeply human experience in itself!
